Mérida, Yucatán, 12 de agosto de 2015.- Más de 600 estudiantes de nuevo ingreso de las facultades de Química e Ingeniería Química de la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY), participaron en la primera “Feria de Inducción”, evento en el que de forma interactiva conocieron los diferentes programas de atención que les beneficiarán lo largo de sus carreras.
El coordinador del Sistema Integral de Atención al Estudiante (SIAE), Jorge Carlos Guillermo Herrera, explicó que esta actividad se realizaba originalmente de manera expositiva en cada una de las facultades y escuelas de la Universidad, sin embrago, en esta ocasión se buscó brindarles una experiencia más significativa de aprendizaje a los alumnos.
“Hicimos módulos a manera de feria para que sea muy interactivo, para que consulten qué programas hay como los de becas, tutorías, movilidad, servicios deportivos y culturales, entre otros, a los que tienen derecho por ser estudiantes UADY”, expuso el funcionario universitario.
El rector de la máxima casa de estudios, José de Jesús Williams, acompañado por el titular de la Dirección General de Desarrollo Académico, Carlos Estrada Pinto, realizó el primer recorrido por los módulos que estuvieron instalados de 8:00 a 12:00 horas en el Patio del Edificio Central de la UADY.
Así, el doctor Williams constató el entusiasmo de los expositores y de los estudiantes que se dieron cita para conocer detalles sobre el Centro Institucional de Lenguas, el Instituto Confucio, los programas de Movilidad, Becas, Tutorías, Voluntariado, así como las propuestas de las sociedades de alumnos.
“La idea es que esto los motive para que en un segundo momento en sus facultades, acudan a los Centros de Atención al Estudiante para buscar más información”, precisó Guillermo Herrera.
El coordinador del SIAE reiteró que esta es la primera vez que se organiza la “Feria de Inducción”, motivo por el cual se buscó dirigirla exclusivamente a los más de 600 jóvenes de nuevo ingreso de las facultades de Química e Ingeniería Química.
Además de brindarles información mediante pláticas, folletería y exposiciones interactivas en video y computadoras, los jóvenes asistentes tuvieron la oportunidad de presenciar exhibiciones de esgrima, de artes escénicas y de las destrezas que pueden adquirir en idiomas.
Tras el éxito y buena respuesta observada, el directivo anticipó que para el próximo ciclo escolar se prevé realizar eventos de esta naturaleza en cada uno de los Campus de la UADY y de las escuelas de nivel medio superior, a fin de ofrecerles una experiencia de aprendizaje significativo a todos los alumnos de nuevo ingreso.

Infonacot ya entregó $180 millones en 8 meses (español e inglés)

Debido a las facilidades y ventajas que ofrece el Infonacot a los trabajadores para comprar bienes y servicios cada vez aumenta el número de los que usan ese financiamiento, se informó hace unos momentos durante la firma de un convenio entre ese Instituto y Coparmex Mérida.
Se indicó que al Infonacot también están recurriendo muchos directivos para obtener crédito para compra de automóviles.
En lo que  va del año ya se dieron $180 millones en financiamiento.
El convenio fue firmado por el director regional de ese Instituto, Miguel Morales Cervera, y el presidente de Coparmex Mérida, Nicolás Madahuar Bohem.
Ese acuerdo es para promover que más empresas se inscriban al Infonacot para que sus trabajadores gocen de ese derecho.

En un futuro el mercado laboral se caracterizará más por profesionales que trabajan por su cuenta y otras personas que generan su propio empleo, “esa es la tendencia”, consideró Luis Escalante Alonzo, gerente estatal del Infonavit.
Entrevistado, recordó que las modificaciones en el instituto que permiten que los patrones y las personas que se autoemplean se afilien son parte del programa nacional denominado Crezcamos Juntos, el cual consiste en alentar que la población deje la economía informal, se registre ante el fisco y entonces goce del acceso al IMSS, al Infonavit y otros programas federales más.
El nuevo esquema, señaló, beneficiará especialmente a los jóvenes que comienzan su vida laboral porque cotizarán varios años, y cuando llegue el momento en que ellos requieran vivienda —cuando se casen, por ejemplo— entonces ya tendrán una buena cantidad acumulada. Y el monto de financiamiento que recibirán será alto debido a ese ahorro y los muchos años laborales que les quedan por delante.
Por ejemplo, comentó que si un egresado de nivel universitario —de 23 a 25 años de edad— empieza a trabajar por su cuenta y a cotizar en el Infonavit, entonces a los 35 años es una etapa ideal para pedir el financiamiento.
La razón de esto es que ya habrá hecho aportaciones importantes y tendrá amplio plazo para pagar porque le quedan muchos años laborales.
Un joven de 23 años que devengue tres salarios mínimos pagaría al Infonavit una cuota de $639 bimestrales, en cifras redondas. Pero debido al programa Crezcamos Juntos, ese monto sería menor porque la Federación otorga un subsidio, el cual es de 50% en los dos primeros años. Después el monto de este apoyo va decreciendo en los ocho años siguientes.
En esas condiciones, cuando pida el crédito al instituto tendrá ahorrado en su cuenta de vivienda $26,851, los cuales llegarían a unos $29,000 con los intereses que ello genere. El financiamiento que recibiría sería de $298,000. Sumando ambas cantidades obtendrá en total $327,000 para comprar casa.
La mensualidad que pagaría para devolver ese crédito sería de $700.
El funcionario recordó que los financiamientos que otorga el Infonavit van de acuerdo con el salario del derechohabiente y la edad de éste. Hay una tabla para hacer esos cálculos.
Luego reiteró que como parte de Crezcamos Juntos, durante 10 años la Federación da una parte de la cuota bimestral que debe pagarse al Infonavit, ese subsidio va disminuyendo conforme trascurra esa década.
También informó que una vez que se hayan cubierto siete bimestres ya se tiene derecho a pedir un crédito, pero esto no se recomienda debido a que monto que se recibiría es bajo.

El funcionario recordó que en el pasado los patrones estaban obligados a inscribir a sus empleados ante el Infonavit y pagar las cuotas respectivas a ese instituto, pero no podían darse de alta ellos mismos y gozar también del financiamiento para tener una casa.
Eso ya cambió, ahora el beneficio puede ser aprovechado por ambas partes.

Uno de los objetivos del VIII Encuentro Nacional de Papayeros 2015, que se realizará en Mérida del miércoles 19 al sábado 22 próximo, es buscar precios sustentables que beneficien lo mismo al productor que al comercializador, según informó Carlos Escalante Méndez, presidente estatal del Sistema Producto Papaya de Yucatán.
—Habrá una mesa de negocios con una intención muy importante, porque hoy día los precios llegan a niveles tan bajos que no puede ser sustentados y lógicamente las personas que pueden mantener el cultivo son las que después venden a precios estratosféricos —dijo.
“Eso tampoco puede ser sustentable, por lo que se busca una intermediación entre los precios de lo más alto a lo más bajo que se esté manteniendo para que la producción sea sustentable, tanto para el productor como el comercializador”.
En la presentación del evento, Escalante Méndez indicó que en la Finca de Papayas planean mostrar a los participantes con cuánta tierra y piedra cuentan para hacer sus cultivos.
También habló de la comida que se realizará en un cenote y la visita a la zona arqueológica de Chichén Itzá, la cual cerrará las actividades con el espectáculo de Luz y sonido.
Recalcó que este encuentro es de suma importancia y que el haberlo traído al Estado demuestra que México ocupa el primer lugar como exportador de papaya, seguido de Belice y Guatemala, el 84 por ciento de las exportaciones yucatecas van para Estados Unidos y un 16 por ciento para Canadá.
Actualmente hay una superficie de 12,500 hectáreas utilizadas para la siembra de la papaya entre los estados productores como Colima, Veracruz, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Michoacán, Campeche Jalisco, Quintana Roo, Yucatán y Tabasco.

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO (Por David Chan Caamal, Megamedia).— Regina Tamés Noriega, directora del Grupo de Información en Reproducción Elegida (GIRE), indicó que son alarmantes las cifras de discriminación y violencia contra las mujeres y niñas en edad reproductiva, y Yucatán no está exento de este problema.
Sin embargo, indicó, lo más alarmante es que las autoridades locales y federales no hacen algo para resolver este fenómeno y en cambio sí las criminaliza.
Durante una rueda de prensa ofrecida la mañana de ayer en el restaurante Mexsi Bocu, en la capital del país, Regina Tamés destacó que México se encuentra entre los principales países con la tasa de natalidad más alta en el mundo en jóvenes de entre los 14 y 19 años de edad.
La directiva explicó que de cada 1,000 nacimientos en el país, 64 son de mujeres que se encuentran en este rango de edad, y en muchos casos no reciben la atención adecuada y fallecen.
Denuncias
Regina Tamés precisó que en el país existen 700 denuncias penales contra mujeres por casos de aborto.
En muchos de estos casos ellas sufrieron violencia obstétrica y en sus entidades se les negó este procedimiento al que tenían derecho al ser víctimas de violación o estar en riesgo su vida, o simplemente fueron casos de abortos espontáneos.

Con motivo del Día Internacional de la Juventud -el 12 de agosto-, el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (Inegi) presentó información sociodemográfica acerca de la población joven de 15 a 29 años que vive en México.
La Encuesta Nacional de la Dinámica Demográfica (Enadid) 2014, muestra que en Yucatán la población joven de 15 a 29 años es de 533, 711, y aunque se observa un incremento respecto a 1990 (505,352), su proporción con respecto al total disminuyó de 26.3% en 1990 a 25.4% en 2014; lo anterior se explica por un proceso de envejecimiento que se manifiesta en un aumento relativo de la población de mayor edad y en una menor participación porcentual de niños y jóvenes.
En cuanto a su estructura por edad, del total de jóvenes, 35% son adolescentes de 15 a 19 años, cuatro de cada 11 (36.8%) son jóvenes de 20 a 24 años y dos de cada siete (28.2%) tienen de 25 a 29 años de edad. Entre el rango de 20 a 24 años la población masculina es mayor a la femenina, con 103.3 hombres por cada 100 mujeres; en los grupos de 15 a 19 y de 25 a 29 años esta relación se invierte 97.7 y 91.6, respectivamente.
En la entidad, la tasa de desocupación en los jóvenes de 15 y más años durante el primer trimestre de 2015 es de 2.6%. Un análisis por edad, muestra que los adolescentes de 15 a 19 años (6.9%) y los jóvenes de 20 a 24 (4.6%) tienen el mayor nivel de desocupación. Uno de los problemas que enfrenta la población joven al momento de buscar trabajo es la falta de experiencia laboral: 17.5 por ciento de los jóvenes desocupados no cuenta con esta experiencia.
Además, el 6.1% de la población ocupada de 15 a 29 años declaró estar subocupada, es decir, tienen la necesidad y la disponibilidad de ofertar más tiempo de trabajo de lo que su ocupación actual les permite.
Otro aspecto por señalar de esta población es su nivel de instrucción ya que únicamente 4% no terminó la primaria, 15.8 % y 42.7% tienen la primaria y secundaria completa, respectivamente, mientras los que cuentan con estudios medio superior y superior es de solo 37.5 %.
La proporción de jóvenes ocupados que reciben hasta un salario mínimo es de 16.3 por ciento; cinco de cada 13 (38.7%) recibe más de uno y hasta dos salarios mínimos; mientras que uno de cada 11 (8.9%) no reciben remuneración.
La situación conyugal que predomina en los jóvenes es la de solteros (64.7%), mientras que uno de cada tres (33.2%) está unido (casado o en unión libre) y 2.1% se encuentra divorciado, separado o viudo (población ex unida). Conforme avanza la edad la situación conyugal de los jóvenes tiende a cambiar: en los adolescentes de 15 a 19 años 88.6% está solteros, mientras que en los de 25 a 29 años cuatro de cada siete (57.3%) están unidos. Destaca que 4.0% de la población de los jóvenes de 25 a 29 años de edad está divorciado, separado o viudo.
La cohabitación premarital se define como el periodo de vida marital previo al matrimonio y resulta de gran trascendencia en el estudio de la fecundidad, ya que es un periodo en el que se produce una exposición de riesgo al embarazo. En la entidad, 14.5% de las mujeres jóvenes, se encuentran en unión libre.
Se registró en Yucatán 38 588 nacimientos durante 2013, en 27 758 de estos (71.9 %) las madres tenían entre 15 a 29 años. Analizando esta población por grupos quinquenales de edad se puede observar que entre los 20 a 24 años es cuando más nacimientos ocurren, 11 360, seguido de las madres cuya edad es entre 25 a 29 años 9 609 y 6 789 registros en aquellas que tenían de 15 a 19 años.
En las mujeres de 20 años de edad se registró el mayor número de nacimientos 2 398, seguidas de las de 22 con 2 352 sucesos, luego las de 21, 2 278 alumbramientos.
De acuerdo con las estadísticas de defunciones, en 2013 fallecieron 393 jóvenes en Yucatán, lo que en términos porcentuales representa 3.4% de las defunciones totales. La sobremortalidad masculina es una característica de las defunciones en este segmento de la población. A nivel estatal fallecen 194 hombres por cada 100 mujeres . Las desigualdades observadas en los niveles de la mortalidad entre hombres y mujeres reflejan diferencias en los riesgos a los cuales se exponen. Las tres principales causas de muerte en los varones son provocadas por accidentes de transporte (22.8%), lesiones autoinfligidas intencionalmente (18.9%) y enfermedad por virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana (7.0%). en conjunto representan 48.7% de las defunciones totales de este grupo de población.
En la población femenina se mantiene una estructura similar a la de los varones, fallecen principalmente por malformaciones congénitas, deformidades y anomalías cromosómicas (9.7%), lesiones autoinfligidas intencionalmente (7.5%) y accidentes de transporte (6.7%), aunque su nivel es menor ya que en conjunto no superan la cuarta parte de sus defunciones totales (23.9 por ciento). Tanto en hombres como en mujeres, dos causas similares de muerte se presentan pero en distinto orden de frecuencia.

Pidió que aceleraran su ejecución. Y este miércoles está previsto que su deseo se haga realidad.
La muerte por inyección letal del hispano Daniel López está marcada para las seis de la tarde hora local, 23:00 GMT en la prisión de Huntsville, Texas.
El joven de 27 años es considerado técnicamente un voluntario de la pena de muerte, como se conoce a los condenados a los que un tribunal concede su petición formal de renunciar a futuras apelaciones.
Esa concesión le fue otorgada a López por un tribunal federal.
Tras ser condenado a muerte en 2010, López solicitó en reiteradas ocasiones que se acelere su proceso de ejecución, que en ocasiones se prolonga durante décadas.
"No le veo el punto a esperar 20 años a que finalmente decidan ejecutarme", señaló en una entrevista reciente.
Pero a pesar de la clara voluntad expresada por López sus abogados siguen intentando salvarlo y argumentan que el joven tiene una historia de enfermedad mental y varios intentos de suicidio.
Su equipo defensor llevará este mismo miércoles su lucha a la Corte Suprema de Estados Unidos para que la ejecución sea postergada, según informes en la prensa estadounidense.
Condenado por matar un policía
López fue condenado por la muerte en 2009 del policía Stuart Alexander, de 47 años, un agente con dos décadas de experiencia.
La muerte de Alexander ocurrió tras una persecución policial que comenzó luego de que otro agente intentara detener a López cuando éste se saltó con su vehículo una señal de parada en un barrio de la ciudad de Corpus Christi.
Tras una reyerta con el agente, López se dio a la fuga a alta velocidad y llegó a un punto en la carretera en el que Stuart Alexander acababa de colocar dispositivos para pinchar llantas con el fin de detenerlo.
López aseguró que intentó esquivar los dispositivos y atropelló al agente.
Según registros del caso, durante la fuga se comunicó con su madre, María Teresa Quintero, a quién habría señalado "creo que atropellé a alguien, no pude ver porque me habían lanzado gas pimienta".
López fue interceptado poco después, tras recibir disparos en el brazo, cuello y espalda a su paso por otro control policial.
El joven dijo después que huyó cuando el primer policía intentó detenerlo porque tenía drogas en su vehículo. La policía halló posteriormente en el auto doce paquetes de cocaína.
Registros judiciales citados por varios medios de prensa señalan que López estaba bajo libertad condicional luego de haber sido condenado por mantener relaciones sexuales con menores.
"Está intentando suicidarse"
Los abogados de López cuestionaron la decision del tribunal federal que encontró al joven mentalmente competente para renunciar a sus apelaciones.
También señalan que no debió haber sido condenado a muerte, porque no tuvo intención de matar a Alexander.
Si la ejecución tiene lugar, Daniel López será el décimo preso ejecutado este año en Texas y el número 19 en todo el país.
Pero su principal argumento es que López tiene una historia de enfermedades mentales y varios intentos de suicidio y está usando su condena para llevar a la realidad su largo deseo de acabar con su vida.
"Es claro que se ha permitido a López usar el sistema legal en otro intento de quitarse la vida", dijo el abogado David Dow.
Los fiscales del caso, en cambio, afirman que López fue examinado por un psicólogo y testificó ante un tribunal federal que no constató problemas mentales.
De acuerdo a la ONG The Forgiveness Foundation o Fundación del Perdón, una organización cristiana contraria a la pena de muerte, López abandonó su educación con unos 15 años.
La fundación asegura en su sitio en internet que "a lo largo de su infancia Daniel fue diagnosticado con el síndrome de déficit de atención".
Otro de los abogados defensores de López, Luis García, dijo que su cliente estaba muy lejos de ser el monstruo descrito durante el juicio en su contra.
García dijo que López provenía "de un hogar quebrado y dos veces intentó cometer suicidio cuando era adolescente, una vez intentando cortar sus venas y otra con una sobredosis".
Si la ejecución tiene lugar, Daniel López será el décimo preso ejecutado este año en Texas y el número 19 en todo el país.
El 50% de las ejecuciones de 2015 han tenido lugar en Texas.
El mismo estado también tiene previsto ejecutar el jueves a Tracy Beatty, de 54 años, condenado por asesinar a su madre en 2003.
Al menos otros siete prisioneros en el corredor de la muerte en Texas tienen fechas de ejecución en los próximos meses.
