Al reunirse con el nuevo cónsul general de Estados Unidos en esta capital, David Micó, el gobernador Rolando Zapata Bello refrendó la disposición de trabajar coordinadamente con autoridades de esa legación, para fomentar intercambios académicos y comerciales, así como fortalecer estrategias de apoyo entre las regiones.
En una junta efectuada en el Salón de los Retratos de la sede del Poder Ejecutivo, el mandatario estatal auguró al funcionario éxito en su encomienda y enfatizó que una de las prioridades de la suma de esfuerzos entre las instancias que representa es difundir el impulso que ha tenido la entidad en distintos rubros, según un comunicado.
“Queremos que fuera de nuestras fronteras se dé a conocer todo lo que hacemos en Yucatán y sabemos que contamos con aliados importantes. Estamos seguros que tendremos una comunicación fluida y el diálogo será la base de esta relación de cooperación”, dijo.
Por su parte, Micó agradeció la bienvenida y señaló que los acuerdos emanados de la unión de voluntades serán fructíferos, ya que es bien sabido que las autoridades estatales siempre han tenido la disposición de respaldar acciones que garanticen el bienestar de residentes y extranjeros.
“Es un compromiso muy grande el que se me asigna al venir a Mérida. Las expectativas son altas por todo el apoyo que mis colegas han encontrado en su Gobierno. Tendremos una relación con buenos resultados”, aseveró.
En el encuentro estuvieron el jefe del Despacho del Gobernador, Eric Rubio Barthell; la gerente Administrativa del Consulado General de Estados Unidos de América en Mérida, Christina Jean Hernández, y la asistente de Diplomacia Pública del mismo, Tricia Olivares.
David Micó señaló que los acuerdos emanados de la unión de voluntades serán fructíferos, ya que es bien sabido que las autoridades estatales siempre han tenido la disposición de garantizar el bienestar de residentes y extranjeros.

"We want outside our borders are drawn to everything we do in Yucatan and we know that we have important allies.We are sure we will have good communication and dialogue will be the basis of this cooperative relationship, "he said.
