ANAHEIM (AP).— Los parques temáticos de Disney tienen la mirada puesta en una galaxia muy, muy lejana. “Star Wars” tendrá su propia área temática en Walt Disney World, en Orlando, y en Disneylandia, en Anaheim, reveló el director general de Disney, Bob Iger.
“Crearemos un mundo que los dejará boquiabiertos”, aseguró Iger anteayer, en el marco de la convención D23 Fan Expo, que comenzó el viernes y finalizó ayer.
Las atracciones, que estarán en un terreno de 5.6 hectáreas, representan la expansión más grande que ha hecho Disney para ese fin.
Iger agregó que cada pedazo del terreno de “Star Wars” será “tan emocionante como las películas” e incluirá atracciones y entretenimiento en un área poblada por alienígenas y robots, una cantina y la posibilidad de pilotar el Halcón Milenario, uno de los principales atractivos.
Una de las propuestas también promete poner a los visitantes en “medio de una batalla campal entre el Primer Orden y la Rebelión”.
Desde 1987, los parques de Disney cuentan solamente con el paseo “Star Tours” como atracción dedicada a “Star Wars”. Ésta será actualizada para acoger a los personajes y mundos de la película que se estrenará en diciembre próximo, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. Esta atracción no se sometía a mejoras desde 2011.
Se esperaba una mayor integración de esta marca en los parques desde que Disney adquirió Lucasfilm en 2012. Disney también incorporará el puerto de lanzamiento interactivo de “Star Wars” y un nuevo evento de temporada, el “Season of the Force (Temporada de la fuerza)”, en el que la Space Mountain se modernizará para convertirse en la Hyperspace Mountain y los visitantes participarán en batallas con aviones X-Wing.
Bob Chapek, presidente de Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, anunció también una atracción con el tema de “Toy Story” en los Hollywood Studios de Disney, con objetos gigantes para que los visitantes sientan que están en el patio de Andy.
En el marco de la convención, los cineastas James Cameron y Jon Landau dieron un vistazo al Mundo de Avatar que se construye en Animal Kingdom.

ANAHEIM (AP) .- The Disney theme parks have their eyes on a far, far away galaxy. "Star Wars" will have its own subject area at Walt Disney World in Orlando and Disneyland in Anaheim, said the CEO of Disney, Bob Iger.
"We will create a world that will blow them away," Iger said yesterday, as part of the convention D23 Fan Expo, which began Friday and ended yesterday.
Attractions, which are in an area of 5.6 hectares, represent the largest expansion that has made Disney for that purpose.
Iger said that every piece of land of "Star Wars" will be "as exciting as the movies" and will include attractions and entertainment in a populated by aliens and robots, a bar and the possibility of piloting the Millennium Falcon area, one of the main attractions .
One proposal also promises to put visitors in "the middle of a pitched battle between the First Order and Rebellion".
Since 1987, the Disney parks have only ride "Star Tours" attraction dedicated to as "Star Wars." This will be updated to accommodate the characters and worlds of film to be released in December, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". This attraction is not subjected to improvements since 2011.
Greater integration of this brand is expected in the parks since Disney acquired Lucasfilm in 2012. Disney also incorporate interactive harbor release of "Star Wars" and a new seasonal event, the "Season of the Force (Season force ) ", where the Space Mountain will be upgraded to become the Hyperspace Mountain and visitors participate in battles with X-Wing aircraft.
