La Asociación China Península de Yucatán, dirigida por Antonio Yi Bai, firmó ayer su primer convenio de colaboración educativa con el Centro de Estudios de las Américas (CELA) de Mérida para la enseñanza del chino mandarín y futuro intercambio cultural y educativo.
El convenio entrará en vigencia en el curso escolar que se inicia el día 31 próximo y el acuerdo es que la Asociación China aportará un maestro y materiales didácticos para la enseñanza de este idioma extranjero entre los alumnos de la escuela de bachillerato privada.
La firma del documento estuvo a cargo de la nueva directora del Centro de Idioma Chino, Lijun, recién nombrada por el gobierno chino y que hace unos meses vino a vivir en esta ciudad. Por el CELA firmó el director administrativo, Enrique Santacruz Polanco Cabrales.
Yi Bai informó que desde la creación de la Asociación China tienen como misión promover el aprendizaje del chino mandarín para que los yucatecos y mexicanos conozcan la cultura de su país, aprovechen las becas de estudios o capacitación tecnológica porque tienen un aprecio especial por México y Yucatán.
En el CELA se darán clases de modo gratuito
El director administrativo del Centro de Estudios de las América (CELA), Enrique Santacruz Polanco Cabrales, consideró que el idioma chino mandarín que incorporarán en los planes de estudio de bachillerato como materia opcional despertará interés entre el alumnado.
Al hablar de la importancia del convenio de colaboración entre ese plantel y la Asociación China Península de Yucatán, Polanco Cabrales informó que con este apoyo para la enseñanza del chino mandarín aumenta a cinco las materias optativas y cree que por la importancia del país asiático, su gran potencial económico y su historia cultural milenaria tendrá aceptación entre la mayoría de los estudiantes.
El CELA tiene 350 alumnos de preparatoria y los que pueden aprovechar esta oportunidad de aprender chino en forma gratuita son los alumnos de nuevo ingreso, quienes podrán llevar esa materia los tres años.
“Tengo mucha confianza de que gustarán las clases”, dijo el maestro Polanco Cabrales. “Es una oportunidad muy valiosa aprender el idioma extranjero. Geográficamente China está muy lejos y estamos acostumbrados a voltear a Estados Unidos, y creemos que no hay otros países que también son importantes y nos pueden aportar beneficios”.
“Los alumnos pueden obtener becas del gobierno de China para estudiar allá, es una fantástica oportunidad para los jóvenes”, comentó.
La nueva directora del Centro de Idioma Chino, Lijun, quien no habla español pero ya viste ropa maya (como la blusa bordada que portó ayer), dijo por medio de una traductora, hará una intensa promoción para que los yucatecos aprendan el chino en la escuelita que tienen en su local de la calle 23 No. 136 entre 30 y 32 de la colonia Buenavista.
Comentó que sabe que los mexicanos tienen interés de aprender chino y está a gusto de vivir en Mérida; su primera impresión es que la gente es muy atenta y amistosa.
