MÉXICO (EFE).— El único detenido por el asesinato del fotoperiodista Rubén Espinosa el 31 de julio pasado junto con cuatro mujeres en un inmueble del Distrito Federal negó su responsabilidad en el crimen y aseguró que estuvo en el lugar “sólo para tener sexo pagado”.
Según la declaración judicial de Daniel Pacheco del día 5 de agosto, que fue difundida ayer por Radio Fórmula, el detenido indicó que fue al departamento en el que murió Espinosa con dos amigos, a los que identificó como Abraham y Omar, que son buscados por la policía desde hace días.
El caso provocó que 400 intelectuales de todo el mundo dirigieran una carta al presidente Enrique Peña Nieto, denunciando que los periodistas “viven en peligro mortal” en el país, donde más de cien han sido asesinados desde el 2000 y el 89% de esos crímenes sigue impune.
Anteayer, Peña Nieto se refirió directamente al caso, que consideró “sonado y relevant”, e instó a las autoridades a “redoblar esfuerzos” para detener a los responsables de los ataques contra los periodistas y defensores de derechos humanos en el país.
El fotoperiodista Rubén Espinosa había denunciado amenazas y hostigamiento en Veracruz, donde trabajaba, y por esa razón se mudó a la capital.
En su testimonio, Pacheco aclaró que su presencia en el lugar del crimen respondió a una invitación de Abraham, quien supuestamente tenía una relación previa con una de las víctimas, la colombiana Mile Virginia Martín, a la que identificó como “Nicole” y, según él, manejaba a prostitutas para explotarlas comercialmente.
Además de Espinosa y de Martín, en el ataque a la vivienda, un departamento situado en la colonia Narvarte, fallecieron la activista Nadia Vera y dos mujeres más, una de ellas una empleada doméstica que al parecer estaba allí trabajando.
Pacheco testificó también que “Nicole” les permitió la entrada al inmueble y que una vez dentro él acordó tener sexo con una mujer de 20 años de edad a cambio de 1,800 pesos.
Afirmó también que al finalizar la señora del aseo le invitó a dejar el departamento y esperó a sus acompañantes unos 15 minutos en el coche de su amigo hasta que éste bajó con el otro sospechoso, Omar.
Se fueron en dos vehículos, uno de ellos supuestamente propiedad de la colombiana, y se separaron varias calles más tarde.
En la declaración, Pacheco sostuvo que se enteró de los homicidios dos días después al ver las noticias.
“Me bajé, en pesero (taxi colectivo) me fui a la casa de mi chica y el domingo me entere que habían matado a varias personas”, sostuvo.
Afirmó que al lunes siguiente habló con Abraham porque no quería que lo involucraran y un día después fue detenido por la policía fuera de su casa.
Los cuerpos del reportero gráfico, la activista y de las otras tres mujeres fueron encontrados con un tiro de gracia y, en el caso de ellas, también con signos de tortura.
La Procuraduría del D.F., señaló que mantiene abiertas todas las líneas de investigación, así como la atención a los familiares de las víctimas.
Los abogados de la familia de Vera han acusado a la procuraduría de filtrar “información sensible del expediente” con el fin de estigmatizar a las víctimas por su nacionalidad u oficio, como en el caso de la mujer extranjera, y apuntar al robo o las drogas como móvil de crimen.
Asimismo, la Procuraduría informó que anteayer compareció la madre de una las víctimas de los crímenes, la joven Yesenia Quiroz.
La familiar solicitó que le fueran entregados los objetos personales de su hija, por lo que la diligencia se llevó a cabo en el departamento de la calle Luz Saviñón.

MEXICO (EFE) .- The only person arrested for the murder of photojournalist Ruben Espinosa July 31 last with four women in a building of Mexico City denied responsibility for the crime and said that was in place "just to have paid sex ".
According to the judicial declaration of Daniel Pacheco of August 5, which was released yesterday by Radio Formula, the detainee said he went to the apartment where he died Espinosa with two friends, whom he identified as Abraham and Omar, who are wanted by police for days.

Besides Espinosa and Martin in the attack on the house, an apartment located in the Narvarte, activist Nadia Vera died and two women, one a maid who was apparently working there.
Pacheco also testified that "Nicole" allowed them entry to the property and that once inside he agreed to have sex with a woman of 20 years in exchange for 1,800 pesos.
He also stated that at the end of the cleaning lady invited him to leave the department and his companions waited about 15 minutes in the car of his friend until he came down with the other suspect, Omar.
They left in two vehicles, one of them allegedly owned Colombian, and several streets were separated later.
In the statement, Pacheco said he learned of the killings two days after watching the news.
"I got in pesero (collective taxi) I went to my girlfriend's house and Sunday I found out that they had killed several people," he said.
He said the following Monday spoke with Abraham did not want to involve him and one day after he was arrested by police outside his home.
The bodies of the photojournalist, the activist and the other three women were found with the coup de grace, and in the case of them, also with signs of torture.
The City Attorney's Office said keeping open all lines of research as well as care for the families of the victims.
Lawyers for the family of Vera accused the prosecutor of filter "record sensitive information" in order to stigmatize the victims by their nationality or occupation, as in the case of foreign women, and aim to theft or drugs as mobile crime.
