El gobierno estatal espera tener el año próximo una partida presupuestal especial para dar mantenimiento y remozamiento a varios edificios públicos de esta capital que tienen importancia patrimonial o histórica y que ya requieren ese tipo de trabajos, informó Daniel Quintal Ic, secretario de Obras Públicas.
Explicó que esas tareas no pudieron realizarse este año porque no hubo recursos económicos para ello. Ahora se analizan distintos segmentos presupuestales del próximo ejercicio anual para determinar de dónde podría obtenerse ese dinero.
El funcionario indicó que entre los inmuebles que requieren intervención están la ex penitenciaría Benito Juárez, el Palacio de Gobierno y el Museo Fernando Ponce García-Macay.
Además están la antigua estación de ferrocarril, que ahora alberga a la Escuela Superior de Artes de Yucatán (ESAY) y la Escuela Estatal de Bellas Artes, la cual ocupa el predio donde hace muchas décadas funcionó el hospital psiquiátrico.
En el caso del viejo edificio de la ex penitenciaría, frente al Parque de la Paz, Quintal Ic manifestó que ya se hicieron varios trabajos. Megamedia.

The state government expects to have next year a special budgetary allocation for maintenance and renovation of public buildings in the capital or assets that have historical importance and already require such work, said Daniel Quintal Ic, Secretary of Public Works.
He explained that these tasks could not be done this year because there was no economic resources for this. Now different segments of the next annual budget exercise to determine where that money could be obtained are analyzed.
He said that among the properties that require intervention are the former penitentiary Benito Juarez, the Government Palace and Fernando Ponce Garcia-Macay Museum.
Then there are the old railway station, now home to the School of Arts of Yucatan (ESAY) and the State School of Fine Arts, which occupies the site where many decades ago ran the psychiatric hospital.
