Hoy muy temprano la Academia dio a conocer la lista completa de nominados a la 90ª entrega de los premios Oscar, en la que The Shape of Water parte como gran favorita. La película del mexicano Guillermo del Toro está nominada en 13 categorías, incluyendo Mejor película, Mejor dirección, Mejor actriz, Mejor actor de reparto y Mejor guión.
Además de The Shape of Water, también destacan las nominaciones de Coco como Mejor película animada y Mejor canción, así como la de Greta Gerwig a Mejor dirección por Lady Bird. Y es que en caso de ganar, Gerwig podría convertirse en la segunda directora en la historia en ganar un Oscar en esa categoría.
Esta edición de los premios Oscar será una de las más polémicas que hayamos visto, luego del escándalo de abusos que se destapó en Hollywood el año pasado. La ceremonia tendrá lugar el 4 de marzo en el Dolby Theatre de Los Ángeles, y será conducida por Jimmy Kimmel.
