MÉXICO .- El actor y humorista mexicano Mario Moreno “Cantinflas”, ganador de un Globo de Oro por su actuación en la película “La vuelta al mundo en ochenta días”, se mantiene vigente a 104 años de su nacimiento, ya que se prevé realizar el “Proyecto Cantinflas”, una serie y largometraje animado.
Se tratará de un programa educativo y constará de 26 capítulos, los cuales se planean dar a conocer en 2016, mientras que la película se contempla a mediano plazo y su proyección para antes de 2019.
Quien prestará su voz a “Cantinflas” será el imitador Celedonio Núñez, quien recrea a este personaje desde hace dos décadas.
Para ambos proyectos se trabaja con Mario Moreno Ivanova, quien cuenta con todos los derechos del comediante mexicano.
El pasado 7 de agosto la cinta “Cantinflas”, de Sebastián del Amo, ganó como Mejor Película y Mejor Actor en el XI Festival Internacional de Cine de Calanda, que se realiza en esta localidad donde nació el cineasta Luis Buñuel.
En abril, para celebrar 22 años del aniversario luctuoso de “Cantinflas”, se rindió un homenaje en Galería Plaza las Estrellas de la Ciudad de México, con la develación de una escultura realizada por Víctor Gutiérrez.
En cuanto al proyecto del Museo en honor a Cantinflas, Moreno Ivanova definirá en breve la fecha y el sitio en el que se edificará.
Fortino Mario Alfonso Moreno Reyes, nombre completo del actor, nació el 12 de agosto de 1911 en la sexta calle de Santa María la Redonda, ubicada en esta capital. Fue el sexto de una familia de 15 hermanos.
Inició estudios de Medicina para complacer a su padre, pero debido a la mala situación económica que vivía, tuvo que abandonar la escuela para ganarse el pan con la interpretación de pequeños papeles en espectáculos de variedades.
Trabajó en el circo, en las llamadas “carpas de variedad”, y pronto sus grandes dotes para la interpretación lo llevaron a recrear un enternecedor hombre pobre, hábil e ingenuo, de prodigiosos dotes acrobáticos y característicos sombrero y bigote.
Su legendario personaje “Cantinflas”, inspirado en un barrendero borrachito que conoció cuando trabajaba en el Teatro Follies, representó al pelado de los 30. Su papel, lo mismo daba vida a un boxeador, taxista y lustrador de calzado, que a un bailarín.
El 27 de octubre de 1936 se casó con Valentina Ivanova Zubareff, de origen ruso, con quien permaneció hasta la muerte de ella en 1966. En 1961, Moreno e Ivanova adoptaron a un niño que fue llamado Mario Arturo Moreno Ivanova.
Su carrera en cine comenzó como publicista y su primera aparición fue en la película “No te engañes corazón” (1936), a la cual le siguió el gran éxito “Ahí está el detalle” (1940), de Juan Bustillo Oro, gracias al cual pudo fijar su personaje.
Su popularidad creció con títulos como “Ni sangre ni arena” (1941), “El gendarme desconocido” (1941), “Los tres mosqueteros” (1943) y “Gran hotel” (1944), éxitos que rompieron récords de taquilla en América Latina.
Calificado por el británico Charles Chaplin como el Mejor Comediante del Mundo, Mario Moreno fue escogido por Michael Todd para interpretar a “Passepartout” en la espectacular producción “La vuelta al mundo en ochenta días” (1956).
Por este trabajo, el cual significó su debut en Hollywood, “Cantinflas” fue galardonado con el Globo de Oro en la categoría Mejor Actor de Comedia o Musical, además, el filme obtuvo el Oscar como Mejor Película.
Otros proyectos que El Mimo de México realizó en el extranjero fueron “Pepe” (1960), también en Estados Unidos; además de la cinta dirigida en España “Don Quijote cabalga de nuevo” (1972).
Otras de sus películas más destacadas fueron “El siete machos”, “El bombero atómico” (ambas de 1950), “Si yo fuera diputado” (1951), “El señor fotógrafo” (1952), “Abajo el telón” (1954), “Ama a tu prójimo” (1958) y “El bolero de Raquel” (1956), su primera película en color.
Además de “Sube y baja” (1958), “El analfabeto” (1960), “El extra” (1962), “Entrega inmediata” (1963), “El padrecito” (1965), “El señor doctor” (1965), “Su excelencia” (1966), “Por mis pistolas” (1968), “Un Quijote sin mancha” (1969) y “El profe” (1971), por mencionar algunas.
La imagen y voz del comediante también destacaron en dibujos animados con las series “Cantinflas show” (1972) y “Cantinflas y sus amigos” (1981). A medida que envejeció, la gracia de este actor no decayó, como lo demuestran “El ministro y yo” (1975) y en su último trabajo “El barrendero” (1981), una de sus obras maestras.
A decir de uno de sus amigos, el bailarín de origen cubano Roberto -de la pareja de Roberto y Mitzuco-, “Cantinflas” contaba con un “excelente manejo de la improvisación, siempre salía con un impredecible comentario y totalmente fuera de libreto”.
Sin embargo, lejos de las luces del escenario, Mario Moreno fue un hombre solitario, introvertido, que no soportaba las mentiras y se llevó muchas decepciones, sobre todo en el ámbito familiar, según comentan amigos y familiares del actor.
También destaca su labor altruista, que se ha mantenido incluso después de su muerte, por medio de dos fundaciones que desarrollan su tarea solidaria en México.
Sustituyó a Jorge Negrete como líder de la Asociación Nacional de Actores (ANDA) y al frente de la misma, fundó la Casa del Actor.
En 1952 hizo gala de la generosidad que lo caracterizaba, al realizar una campaña en favor de los pobres para construir un hábitat social.
Su nombre y todos sus derivados -cantinflada, cantinflear y cantinflesco- ya forman parte del diccionario de la Real Academia de la Lengua Española, como un verbalismo vacío, incongruente, disparatado y que mezcla muletillas.
La Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA), le rindió un homenaje en su sede en Washington y lo nombró Embajador de la Paz, en reconocimiento a su “brillante labor de acercamiento entre los pueblos del mundo”.
Mario Moreno “Cantinflas” falleció víctima de cáncer pulmonar el 20 de abril de 1993 en la Ciudad de México; sin embargo, su personaje continúa provocando carcajadas entre el público.
Luego de recibir un sentido homenaje por parte del pueblo en la sede de la Asociación Nacional de Actores y en el Palacio de Bellas Artes, su cuerpo fue incinerado y sus cenizas depositadas en la cripta familiar del Panteón Español de esta capital.
Hasta la fecha, las películas de “Cantinflas” siguen generando ganancias a Columbia Pictures. En 2009, fue anunciado que el cineasta Alejandro Gómez Monteverde sería el encargado de dirigir el filme de la vida del célebre actor.
En 2011, la Cineteca Nacional inauguró el ciclo “Cantinflas cumple 100 años”, con la proyección de largometrajes como “El gendarme desconocido”, “Un día con el diablo”, “A volar, joven” y “El bolero de Raquel”. Completan la cartelera “El extra” y “Por mis pistolas”.
Asimismo, se lanzó el libro “Mario Moreno ‘Cantinflas’”, bajo la mirada de Armando Herrera, considerado el fotógrafo de las estrellas, y que supone un recorrido por 280 imágenes acerca de los episodios más trascendentales de la vida del mimo.
Un año después, se inauguró la muestra fotográfica “101 años de Cantinflas”, en el marco del Primer Festival Internacional de Cine del Centro Histórico de Toluca.
Por otra parte, en Avión, España, se llevó a cabo la octava edición de la Fiesta Mexicana, cuyos carteles estuvieron dedicados a la figura del humorista.
En junio de 2013, inició el rodaje de la película mexicana “Cantinflas”, protagonizada por el español Óscar Jaenada y bajo la dirección de Sebastián del Amo. El filme cuenta con 95 actores y mil 500 extras.
Para 2014, Del Amo presentó la película en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Guadalajara y plasmó en la cinta la vida del actor desde sus inicios como cómico, hasta que alcanzó el estrellato.

MEXICO .- The Mexican actor and comedian Mario Moreno "Cantinflas", winner of a Golden Globe for her performance in the film "Around the World in Eighty Days", is still valid 104 years after his birth, as foreseen perform "Cantinflas Project" series and animated feature.
