El gremio de matarifes convirtió ayer las calles de San Sebastián en una zona de bombardeo con petardos, hiladas y voladores que retumbaron y generaron cortinas de humo, pero lejos de ocasionar molestia causó alegría, sacó a la gente de sus casas y marchó en la larga columna de estandartes.
El polémico líder de los matarifes, Carlos Herrera Chalé, conocido como “Calín”, fue al frente del gremio junto con una cuadrilla de lanzavoladores y dirigió el grupo religioso del ex Rastro hasta la iglesia de San Sebastián para celebrar a la Virgen de la Asunción, patrona del populoso barrio.
“Calín” es señalado como el líder de un grupo de golpeadores que lesionó a más de 20 personas que protestaron el 4 de julio de 2011 por la construcción del “paso deprimido” de Prolongación de Montejo y todavía recuerda esos hechos.
Olvido, aún lejano
¿Ya se olvidó el 4 de julio?, preguntó el reportero.
“No mucho. En lo personal, como dije en otras ocasiones, me hubiera gustado que no hubiese ese 4 de julio. Si me preguntas que si hubiera borrado esa etapa de mi vida, pues sí, quisiera borrarlo, es algo que no fue grato ni para mí ni para nadie.
“Nuevamente ofrezco disculpas a la ciudadanía, que es la que importa”, reiteró.
¿Te marcaron esos sucesos?
“En cuestión sindical y liderazgo no, la gente sigue conmigo, los trabajadores me aprecian, los apoyo y me apoyan”, subrayó. “Fue un hecho bochornoso ante la sociedad y trato de que eso no se repita en mi vida”.
¿Cómo están los expedientes en tu contra?
“Sólo me queda uno que está en apelación”, informó. “En la mayoría pagué cauciones. Sólo me queda pendiente la denuncia de Beatriz Zavala” (en ese entonces senadora por el PAN).
El gremio de “Calín” es considerado el mejor de San Sebastián porque reúne a cientos de personas —entre ellos a políticos priistas—, por el despliegue de pirotecnia, el baile popular de dos días, la repartición gratuita de alimentos y por el ruidoso desfile que encabeza un grupo de vaqueros.
Ayer estuvieron los diputados electos del PRI Francisco Torres Rivas y Adrián Quintal Ic, y líderes sindicales del IMSS, CTM y ferrocarriles.
