ANKARA, Turquía.  (EFE).- El Consulado de Estados Unidos en Estambul fue atacado hoy a balazos por dos mujeres, supuestas militantes del partido de izquierda radical DHKP/C, confirmó el gobernador de la principal metrópolis turca, Vasip Sahin.
Nadie murió en el ataque y ambas pudieron escapar en un primer momento tras enfrentarse con la policía, que lanzó una operación en la región con el apoyo de helicópteros para tratar de arrestarlas.
La policía turca consiguió finalmente detener a una de las mujeres cuando se refugió en un edificio de apartamentos, informó la emisora CNNTürk.
Sahin precisó que la mujer detenida estaba herida cuando fue encontrada por los agentes.
El ataque se produjo un día después de Estados Unidos desplegara seis cazas F-16 en la base aérea turca de Incirlik (suroeste del país, cerca de Siria), para la lucha contra el grupo yihadista Estado Islámico (EI).
Según el diario Milliyet, la detenida fue identificada como Hatice A., una enfermera de 51 años y militante del partido de izquierda radical DHKP/C, excarcelada el pasado mes tras pasar un tiempo en prisión.
El Partido-Frente Revolucionario de Liberación Popular (DHKP/C) atacó en febrero de 2013 la embajada de Estados Unidos en Ankara, lo que causó dos muertos y tres heridos.
Otros medios turcos aseguran que la detenida sufrió heridas de bala y tiene problemas cardíacos, por los que ha sido hospitalizada.
Este ataque contra la misión estadounidense se produjo después de un atentado suicida esta madrugada contra una estación de policía en un suburbio de Estambul, en el que murió el atacante y un policía.
En el operativo para encontrar a los responsables, dos supuestos terroristas fueron abatidos por las fuerzas de seguridad turcas.
Más tarde se produjeron hoy otros dos ataques, ambos en la provincia de Sirnak, en el sureste del país, que provocaron la muerte de cuatro policías y un soldado.
Nadie se ha atribuido hasta ahora esos ataques, aunque el Gobierno acusa al ilegal Partido de los Trabajadores de Kurdistán (PKK), que a finales de julio rompió un alto el fuego que duró más de dos años.

CANCÚN, Quintana Roo.  (EFE).- Disturbios registrados el domingo en la cárcel de Cancún dejaron 13 heridos, dos de ellos de gravedad, informó Juan Pedro Mercader Rodríguez, secretario de Seguridad Pública del sudoriental estado mexicano de Quintana Roo.
Mercader indicó que la agresión al líder de un grupo de internos derivó en una segunda riña de mayores dimensiones, la cual se registró en el momento en que aquel era trasladado al Hospital General de Cancún para su atención médica.
“Hace unas horas nos reportaron una riña entre internos de una zona que nosotros conocemos como la ‘S’, que se origina entre tres o cuatro internos que agreden al dirigente de esa sección”, señaló el funcionario.
Como consecuencia de ese primer choque, añadió, “el director (de la cárcel) establece los protocolos de seguridad, notifica a las autoridades y trasladan a la persona herida, pero al salir la ambulancia se origina una riña generalizada”.
El secretario de Seguridad Pública dijo que a raíz de lo sucedido esta tarde se reforzarán las medidas de seguridad durante los días de visitas familiares.
Expuso que “los reos violaron el acuerdo que se tenía para que evitaran cualquier tipo de disturbios durante las visitas familiares”.
“Lo que va a pasar ahora es que se van a restringir la cantidad de visitas y los horarios. Ya es la segunda vez que nos pasa; anteriormente tuvimos un problema durante el juego de fútbol y hubo 40 lesionados, 30 de los cuales fueron hospitalizados”, señaló.
La Procuraduría General de Justicia (fiscalía) de Quintana Roo informó anoche que se abrió una investigación por el delito de lesiones.

MÉXICO, D.F., (SUN).- Nicole Barr, una niña de 12 años y ascendencia gitana, es parte del 1% de las personas más inteligentes del mundo e incluso superó por dos puntos el coeficiente intelectual de Stephen Hawking y Albert Einstein. 
De acuerdo con el portal “The Mirror”, la joven estudiante logró 162 puntos en una prueba de coeficiente intelectual lo cual la coloca como una niña genio. 
Su madre, Dolly Buckland, dice estar muy orgullosa y señaló que desde pequeña Nicole disfrutaba recabar los errores de los libros y revistas, además de que siempre pide tarea extra. 
También señala que lleva una vida normal y que desea ser médico cuando crezca. 
Actualmente, la asociación Mensa que se dedica a reunir a las personas con alto coeficiente intelectual ha dado la bienvenida a Nicole.

El 0.19% de la población concentra sumas estratosféricas de dinero
En los últimos 15 años, el monto total de las cuentas de quienes invierten en el mercado bursátil mexicano duplicó su valor comparado con el tamaño de la economía, de acuerdo con informes de la Comisión Mexicana Bancaria y de Valores.
Dicho monto —señala el reporte— aumentó del 22 al 45.9 por ciento del Producto Interno Bruto nacional, del año 2000 a la fecha.
Con esos números se revela que una selecta élite de más de 200 mil inversionistas en las 35 casas de bolsa del país concentran una cantidad de recursos equivalente a casi la mitad de la economía mexicana actual.
Asimismo, el monto de los recursos de inversionistas en el mercado accionario es de 8 billones 489 mil 700 millones de pesos. Estos inversionistas, equivalen a 0.19% de la población total de la República mexicana.

Los recursos de la Bolsa crecieron 4.6% a tasa anual

MÉXICO.— Un exclusivo grupo de 221 mil 825 grandes inversionistas concentra un monto de recursos en la Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV) equivalente a 45.9% del tamaño de la economía, de acuerdo con datos oficiales.
Informes de la Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores (CNBV) precisan que al cierre del primer semestre de este año, el monto de los recursos de inversionistas en el mercado accionario alcanzó 8 billones 489 mil 700 millones de pesos, cantidad que representó un crecimiento anual de 4.6%, de acuerdo con el diario “La Jornada”.
Este monto lo concentra un selecto grupo de inversionistas, que equivale a 0.19% de la población total de México, estimada para este año en 120 millones de habitantes.
De esta manera, las inversiones de los participantes en el mercado accionario —contabilizadas por las 35 casas de bolsa que operan en el país bajo el rubro de operaciones por cuenta de terceros— equivalen a 45.9% del valor total de la economía o del Producto Interno Bruto (PIB), previsto oficialmente para este año, de 18 billones 317 mil millones de pesos.
Hace cinco años, en junio de 2010, los inversionistas que participaban en el mercado accionario, tenían un monto de recursos en la BMV por 5 billones 534 mil 945 millones de pesos, que, a valores de ese año, significaba 42 por ciento del total de la economía mexicana, que era de 13 billones 94 mil 300 millones de pesos.
En un plazo mayor de tiempo, en el año 2000 había registrados 139 mil inversionistas en el mercado accionario mexicano, que poseían recursos por un billón 161 mil 538 millones de pesos. Esa cantidad, a valores de ese año, era el equivalente a 22% del PIB, que era de 5.4 billones de pesos.
De tal forma, en sólo 15 años el monto de las cuentas de los inversionistas en el mercado accionario duplicó su valor, respecto del tamaño de la economía, medida a través del PIB, que pasó de 22 a 45.9 por ciento.
Al cierre de junio de 2015, el sector de casas de bolsa estuvo integrado por 35 entidades en operación, el mismo número de entidades que operaban al cierre de junio de 2014. La cifra de cuentas de inversión fue 221 mil 825, lo que significó un incremento de 12 mil 662 cuentas, o 6.1% respecto al cierre de junio del año anterior.
El valor de las cuentas de orden, que son aquellas que se abren para registrar un movimiento de valores, cuando éste no afecta o modifica los estados financieros de la intermediaria bursátil, fue de 9 billones 47 mil millones de pesos, lo que resulta en un incremento anual de 3.3 por ciento. Dentro de este rubro se ubican los 8 billones 489 mil 700 millones de pesos que los inversionistas participantes en ese mercado dejan en custodia de las casas de bolsa.
Los informes oficiales de la CNBV detallan que el saldo de las operaciones por cuenta de terceros alcanzó en junio de 2015 los 8 billones 489 mil 700 millones de pesos, con un crecimiento anual de 4.6% y representaron 93.8% del total del saldo de las cuentas de orden.
Los activos totales de las 35 casas de bolsa que operan en el mercado bursátil sumaron 540.4 mil millones de pesos, lo que representó un aumento de 47%.
Esto se explica principalmente por el incremento de 45.7% equivalente a 125 mil 900 millones de pesos en las inversiones en valores, que conformaron 74.3% de los activos; un aumento en las cuentas por cobrar de 65.6%, equivalente a 34 mil millones de pesos, que representaron 15.9% de los activos.
Por su parte, el monto de los pasivos fue 505 mil millones de pesos, lo que significó un crecimiento de 50.6% o 169.6 mil millones de pesos. El saldo de acreedores por reporte se ubicó en 364.9 mil millones, lo que significó un incremento de 42%, es decir, 107.8 mil millones, y representó 72.3% del total de los pasivos.

Recuerda la visita al convento de San Juan Pablo II

IZAMAL.— El arzobispo de Yucatán Gustavo Rodríguez Vega acudió por primera vez el convento de San Antonio Padua, donde se adelantó el aniversario 22 de la visita de San Juan Pablo II, realizada el 11 de agosto de 1993.
Fray Antonio Gámez Martínez dio la bienvenida al nuevo Arzobispo en uno de los arcos del atrio.
En compañía de frailes y feligreses, Rodríguez Vera recorrió el atrio para luego ingresar al santuario de la Virgen de la Concepción, donde ofició misa.
Durante la celebración eucarística el Arzobispo recordó la visita de San Juan Pablo II a esta ciudad, donde celebró el encuentro entre las etnias de las Américas.
—Su Santidad pidió perdón por las injusticias y crímenes cometidos en la conquista y colonización española, también pidió por aquellos evangelizadores que protegieron a los indígenas que viven en la marginación y pobreza —mencionó monseñor Rodríguez Vega
Al evento acudieron fieles de Temozón; Popolá, Valladolid; Kancab, Tekax, y Mérida, pertenecientes a la Pastoral Maya, que fueron encabezados por el presbítero Ángel Villegas Gil.
Dora May y May, una de las coordinaras de la agrupación, indicó que participaron en la misa para recordar la visita de San Juan Pablo II a esta ciudad, donde pidió por los indígenas de Yucatán y del continente.
Concluida la misa, integrantes de la pastoral repartieron pan y balché, bebida sagrada de los mayas; además danzaron “El baile de la cabeza de cochino”, acompañados de ramilletes.— José Candelario Pech Ku

Pide perdón por las injusticias

IZAMAL.— El arzobispo de Yucatán, monseñor Gustavo Rodríguez Vega, acudió ayer puntualmente a su cita con Izamal y en el atrio de su convento franciscano fue recibido por el párroco fray Antonio Gámez Martínez.

Ahí también se congregaron los integrantes de la Pastoral Maya, que junto con otros grupos apostólicos acompañaron al prelado al interior de la iglesia.
Monseñor Rodríguez ofició la misa para conmemorar los 22 años del encuentro de Juan Pablo II con representantes de las etnias de América, el 11 de agosto de 1993 en esta ciudad. Por motivos de agenda la celebración se adelantó para este domingo.
En su mensaje, el Arzobispo dijo que la conmemoración se hacía no sólo para recordar a la población maya, sino a todos los grupos indígenas del continente por las injusticias y los crímenes cometidos en la Conquista y la colonización, por los cuales pidió perdón a nombre de la Iglesia. También oró por los evangelizadores que protegieron a los pobladores originarios y para que las actuales comunidades indígenas salgan de la pobreza.
La iglesia fue colmada de fieles, que escucharon la misa incluso en los pasillos. Entre los asistentes se contó el alcalde Fermín Sosa Lugo. Los cantos y las lecturas se hicieron en lengua maya.

El cadáver del bebé, de tres semanas de nacido, fue localizado por un vecino; la madre fue acusada de dos cargos por homicidio y se enfrenta a cadena perpetua


Una mujer fue detenida hoy en Nueva York bajo cargos de haber matado a su bebé de tres semanas tirándolo por el balcón, según informó la Policía.
La joven, identificada como Rashida Chowdhury, de 21 años, fue acusada de dos cargos por homicidio y se enfrenta a cadena perpetua en caso de ser encontrada culpable, detalló la Fiscalía de Queens.
Según las autoridades, la víctima es un varón de tres semanas que fue lanzado la tarde del viernes desde un apartamento en la cuarta planta de un edificio, y el cadáver fue localizado por un vecino.
"Se trata de un caso verdaderamente horrible y perturbador de una madre acusada de matar a su bebé indefenso" , dijo hoy el fiscal del distrito, Richard Brown, en un comunicado
Tras encontrarse el cadáver, la mujer fue traslada a un hospital para una evaluación psiquiátrica y esta madrugada fue detenida por la Policía.
"Lo que hemos escuchado es que la madre tenía problemas mentales, de otra manera no podría haberlo hecho" , dijo un amigo de la familia al periódico Daily News.
Las autoridades han abierto una investigación para tratar de intentar determinar si la mujer tenía depresión posparto, según el mismo diario.

The girl, identified as Rashida Chowdhury, 21, was charged with two counts of murder and faces life in prison if they are found guilty, explained the Office of Queens.
According to the authorities, the victim is a man of three weeks which was released Friday afternoon from an apartment on the fourth floor of a building, and the body was found by a neighbor.
"This is a truly horrific and disturbing case of a mother accused of killing her helpless baby", he said District Attorney Richard Brown said in a statement
After finding the body, the woman was taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and this morning was arrested by police.
"What we have heard is that the mother had mental problems might not otherwise have done," said a family friend the Daily News.

Cancún, 8 Ago (Notimex).- Alrededor de 400 mil visitantes llegaron al municipio de Benito Juárez en agosto, lo que significa hasta 40 mil paseantes más que el mismo periodo del año pasado, informó la Dirección de Turismo.
En un reporte que se dio a conocer hoy, al cierre de las primeras dos semanas de la presente temporada de descanso se registró ocupación hotelera superior a 94 por ciento y se espera que sigan las cifras positivas durante este período que culmina el próximo 24 de agosto.
Por su parte, el director de la oficina municipal de Zona Federal Marítimo Terrestre, Eduardo Mariscal de la Selva, precisó que se realiza limpieza constante en los arenales que suman más de 135 millones de metros cuadrados atendidos.
Así como recolección de más de 30 mil metros cúbicos de sargazo y más de once mil metros cúbicos de basura, entre otras cifras.
En cuanto al tema de la seguridad, en un comunicado el gobierno municipal dio a conocer que previo a este período de descanso se puso en marcha el operativo “Verano Seguro 2015” que estará vigente hasta el próximo 24 de agosto.
Se detalló que en él participan más de 500 elementos de distintas instancias municipales como son la Secretaría Municipal de Seguridad Pública y Tránsito, Bomberos, Protección Civil, Fiscalización, Comercio en la Vía Pública; Zona Federal Marítimo Terrestre (Zofemat); por mencionar algunas, en coordinación con dependencias de los tres órdenes de gobierno y fuerzas militares.
El anuncio se hace mientras una comitiva de representantes de las principales agencias mayoristas y agencias de viajes de Estados Unidos y Canadá, principales mercados para Cancún, realizan una visita para verificar los trabajos de limpieza y retiro de sargazo.
Se trata de directivos de Apple Vacation, Travel Impressions, Exclusive Group Travel, Flight Center, MLT Vacations, Sun Country Airlines, Sunwing Vacation y The Mark Travel Corporation.
Se trata de las agencias mayoristas y tour operadoras más importantes de Estados Unidos y Canadá, que generan prácticamente el 95 por ciento del turismo de esas naciones que visitan.
La Oficina de Visitantes y Convenciones (OVC), dio a conocer hace unos días que la agenda de este grupo incluye no sólo a Cancún y Puerto Morelos, sino que involucra a Holbox e Isla Mujeres.
Mariscal de la Selva comentó que el recorrido permitió que verificaran que algunas playas ya están libres de sargazo.
Además de que se les dio a conocer las acciones que emprendieron los tres órdenes de gobierno para limpiar las costas del estado ante este problema atípico de recale de sargazo y se les explicó que en Cancún la mayor afectación solo se dio en playa Gaviotas, pero el resto de los arenales está limpio.
Precisó que la visita incluye playas de Puerto Morelos, donde dijo, que se trabaja fuertemente con el programa de empleo temporal para garantizar arenales limpios a los visitantes.
