Fue grabado en la ciudad siria de Deir ez-Zor, controlada por los terroristas islámicos, y ha sido obtenido por el periódico británico «The Mail on Sunday» gracias al Ejército Libre Sirio.
Los servicios secretos británicos han confirmado al periódico que es «probable» que el hombre que aparece en el vídeo sea él. El autor de la filtración es Abú Rashid, de Alepo, que recibió este a través de la aplicación de teléfonos móviles Viber.
