TZUCACAB.— En una reunión que se realizó en el local de la comisaría ejidal, campesinos de la localidad aseguran que los cultivos de maíz se perdieron porque las lluvias no llegaron a tiempo y piden al gobierno del Estado que los apoye con semillas de frijol, como una opción para recuperarse.
Gilberto Euán Herrera, uno de los afectados, indica que para seguir adelante con la actividad tienen la opción de aprovechar la tierra y recuperar un poco la inversión perdida, por eso piden les entreguen semillas.
—Creemos que el frijol jamapa es la opción más viable porque este cultivo no requiere de mucha humedad para su producción.
—Las plantaciones de maíz soportaron muchos días de sol, por eso ahora, aunque llueva, ya no se recuperarán —refiere.
—Volver a sembrar maíz sería perder otra inversión ya que las lluvias no son constantes, por eso esperamos que el gobierno del Estado nos apoye con semillas de frijol jamapa —agrega.
—Se sabe que muchos productores perdieron sus cosechas de maíz y calabaza y que ahora necesitan el apoyo de las autoridades.
Ayer productores y representantes de las unidades agrícolas, acompañados del comisario ejidal, Ismael Cocom Baeza, realizaron un recorrido por las milpas para constatar las pérdidas.

Los campesinos indicaron que hay algunos que perdieron dos siembras de maíz. La primera habría sido afectada por una supuesta plagas de gusanos y la segunda por la falta de lluvias.

Productores como Casimiro Caamal Cabañas, Benito Chi Chulim y Gilberto Euán, entre otros, dicen que las unidades afectadas son Miguel Alemán, Neba, Solidari-dad, Benito Juárez y Chacté, entre otras.
