Con una inversión de 280 millones de pesos, se espera que en los próximos días se inicie la construcción de la segunda etapa del Centro de Justicia Oral de Mérida.
De acuerdo con información proporcionada en el gobierno del Estado, con esta segunda etapa se busca conformar un conjunto arquitectónico de tipo “Ciudad Judicial”, con instalaciones de primer orden, que incluso han servido de ejemplo para otros estados del país.
En la segunda estapa se prevé la construcción de un edificio en el cual estarían establecidos los espacios para la Fiscalía General del Estado, el Instituto de Defensa Pública del Estado y también del Centro Estatal de Medidas Cautelares.
El proyecto integral, según se averiguó, considera dos fases más, para terminar con un total de cuatro edificios en ese sitio, frente al reclusorio de Mérida.
Con la segunda fase, el Poder Ejecutivo, junto con el Judicial, buscan dignificar las instalaciones, tanto para el personal del Poder Judicial que actualmente labora en los juzgados penales como para los justiciables.
En el proyecto original de la Secretaría de Obras Públicas se incluyen importantes áreas verdes, lo que caracteriza a este conjunto arquitectónico como “ecológicamente responsable”.
Además, contribuirá a dinamizar la zona sur de la ciudad, particularmente de las colonias que se encuentran en los alrededores del actual Centro de Reinserción Social del Estado, como son la San José Tecoh I y II y San Antonio Xluch, entre otras.
Aunque no hay fecha definida para iniciar la construcción de la segunda etapa del complejo judicial, se espera que esto ocurra en dos semanas a más tardar, por lo cual ya se empezó a limpiar el terreno.
El primer edificio de este conjunto, conocido como Centro de Justicia Oral de Mérida, fue inaugurado en marzo del presente año por el presidente Enrique Peña Nieto. Ese inmueble alberga a siete salas de oralidad, así como espacios para jueces y personal del Poder Judicial del Estado.
El edificio es considerado por las autoridades federales como referente nacional, al cumplir todos los estándares del nuevo sistema penal, y es quizás único de su tipo en todo el país.
